The Downtown Walla Walla Foundation is a local nonprofit, rooted in this community and committed to its future. Our mission is to promote and preserve the history, culture, and commerce.
We are guided by the Main Street approach, which organizes downtown work around Design, Economic Vitality, Promotions, and Outreach.
Volunteers can get involved by joining the Board of Directors, serving on a committee, or volunteering at events throughout the year.
Join The Board of Directors
Board Members lead in four ways:
1. Guiding strategy and governance
2. Overseeing the Foundation’s finances
3. Supporting fundraising through personal giving and opening doors
4. Serving as visible advocates for downtown across the community
What we ask of board members:
Show up: attend monthly board meetings, serve on at least one committee, and take part in key events when able.
Bring your perspective: we need downtown property owners, business owners, and neighbors from all parts of the Walla Walla community.
Give and connect: support our fundraising and help us build relationships across Walla Walla

Join A Committee
Main Street committees support ongoing downtown work and meet once a month for about one hour, with occasional project work as needed.
Design Committee: Supports projects that improve the look, feel, and use of downtown.
Economic Vitality Committee: Supports downtown business health, available spaces, business resources, and long-term economic activity.
Outreach Committee: Connects people, businesses, partners, and volunteers to the programs, projects, and work happening downtown.
Promotions Committee: Supports events, marketing, storytelling, and ways to bring people downtown.
Volunteer at Events
Event volunteers help support DWWF programs and events throughout the year.
Opportunities may include:
Volunteer roles may include setup, check-in, guest support, vendor support, wayfinding, clean-up, and other event-day needs.
