Macy's 14th Annual Parade of Lights

Join us downtown this Saturday for the 14th annual (and one of the largest ever!) Macy's Parade of Lights. The parade will begin at 6pm from the five way intersection at Boyer and Main. From there the floats will head down Main and turn left onto Spokane, and then right onto Alder. Once the parade reaches Fifth Avenue they will turn right again, and then another right onto Main Street to finish the parade back where it began on Boyer. Get a warm drink, choose your spot anywhere on the Parade route. Almost 60 floats have entered into the Parade, and we sure can't wait to see what they have come up with. And don't forget, Santa will be at Inland Octupus directly following the Parade. See you Saturday night!

In the Right Light, Everything is Extraordinary.

In the waning days of 2007, The Foundation received an amazing donation from Community Bank, Key Technology, Land Title of Walla Walla, and the Downtown Development Association to fund the professional installation of white lights on our downtown street trees. These lights are lit throughout the year, creating a magical glow that changes with each season. The Foundation oversees the maintenance of the lights, and a complete overhaul has just been completed by Senske Lawn and Tree Care out of Kennewick.

Through the generosity of our four donors, the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation ensures the white lights in our trees are lit 365 nights a year.  Thank you to Community Bank, Key Technology, Land Title of Walla Walla, and the Downtown Development Association for making our downtown extraordinary.

Here is a photo of Dr. Mark Brown, executive director of Friends of Children of Walla Walla with his marketing committee. This day, the marketing committee decided to, jockingly, show how they felt about their voices being heard. Dr. Brown went along with the fun to have his photo taken. Don't foret about the Friends Game Day cmoing up soon downtown.

Maybe this picture from last year's parade will be a good reminder to attend the parade this Saturday night, December 5th, starting at 6pm. Grab a warm seat inside of the Library, Merchants, or any other business open on the parade route.
