Newsletter October 8

October 8 through 15

The holiday season is fast approaching, and with that comes the 14th Annual Macy's Holiday Parade of Lights. We are now accepting applications for this year's parade, being held on Saturday, December 5th at 6pm. If interested please send an e-mail to the DWWF office, visit our website "visit" section, or get an application from next weeks newsletter. Floats will be placed in the order of which we receive applications. Please contact the DWWF office with questions.

As many of you know, the City has a water, sewer, and street improvement project for Rose Street from 2nd Avenue to Palouse Street scheduled for construction next year. As part of the project we will be contracting the abutting property owners to inform them of the project and to give them the opportunity to pay additional for upgraded water and sewer services and to do streetscape improvements-pavers, sidewalk, and street trees. Please contact Tony Garcia, the City's project manager, at 527-4537 with any questions.

On the
Lighter Side

A Public presentation of the Historic Property Inventory was held Tuesday, the 29th of September. Twenty two people were in attendance. The "Windshield Survey" is the first step in creating a historic district for downtown Walla Walla. The next step is an in depth property inventory, which requires hiring a professional consultant and could take up to a year and a half.
