CarnegiePLCarnegie Picture Lab is beginning the extensive material prep for their spring artist spotlights.  For this they are in need of lots of fabric and yarn.  They will take any size and quantity you have to donate; email them here to find out details.

RRatBerneyHeidi Peterson of Red Reina is the guest chef at Berney School as part of their Chefs in the School program this afternoon presenting a healthy, happy meal to over 450 students, teachers and parents.  What did they get to eat?  A build your own pasta/bean/romaine salad with creamy basil dressing and a whole bunch of yummy vegetable toppings!  Yum.  Other Downtown Foundation members who have participated in this program are Damon Burke from Salumiere Cesario and Dan Thiessen of the WWCC Culinary Institute.  We are so proud of these chefs for teaching the love of food to our community children.

B&EbiscuitsBacon & Eggs at 503 E. Main returns to their regular days of operation – open 8:00 am to 2:00 pm every day but Wednesday. If you have the chance to have the ham and cheddar biscuit, don’t pass it up.

 W2BDCWalla Walla’s Best Dance Crew dance-off is this Friday, March 1 at Cordiner Hall at 7 pm ! Dance crews from Whitman and the Walla Walla Community compete for the title! Proceeds benefit the Walla Walla C.A.S.A. (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a charity that helps children find safe and permanent foster homes.  Tickets: $5 pre-sale at the Reid Bookstore on Whitman campus or Book & Game, $7 at the door.  Each pre-sold ticket gets a free raffle ticket!  To top off this great event, several DWWF members have donated raffles prizes – Coffee Perk, Bright’s Candies, Graze, The Garden Vegan Cafe and Sweet Basil Pizzeria – have all contributed gift cards in support of this great event.
