ArtWalla, with a grant from the Donald & Virginia Sherwood Trust, gifted a 15th piece of public art to the City of Walla Walla collection this week. A sculpture celebrating the city’s 150th year by Squire Broel entitled “Looking Back, Looking Forward,” was installed and dedicated this Tuesday.
Here is a photo gallery of the dedication from the ArtWalla facebook page.
Squire’s design was selected from seven local submissions. He described his concept as, “an interpretive representation and reflection of the themes that have been foundational to the formation of the Walla Walla community during the past 150 years.” A description of the sculpture’s elements will be placed in the park early next year.
