Wheelin’ Walla Walla Weekend Almost Here

The car show is nearly here! Friday on-site registration at the Best Western Walla Walla Suites Inn (7 E. Oak Street just off 2nd Avenue) begins at 9 am – we encourage you to come early and wander around our award-winning downtown! Then head to the fairgrounds at 5 pm to start lining up for the General Paint & Parts Friday Night Cruise – through neighborhoods filled with tailgatin’ fans, plus stunning wheat field and vineyard vistas. Registrants can then return to the fairgrounds for a yummy dinner from A Wing & A Prayer BBQ.

Saturday starts bright and early to line up for the Show ‘N Shine at the corner of Palouse and Alder Streets (this is a change from previous years) – the crew will start parking cars at 7am! If you want to park with your friends or car club, be sure to arrive together as saving spots is not possible. Participants can do the Poker Walk for a chance at cash prizes, vote for their favorite car for the People’s Choice Award, browse the show vendors and downtown shops, and meet up with friends, new and old. The Beer & Wine Garden will be open on Spokane Street from noon to 4pm. Wheelin’ Walla Walla Weekend draws thousands of spectators – NEW this year will be a Kids’ Choice award. Children up to age 15 can come to the info booth at First and Main to pick up their ballot.

The official Awards Ceremony will begin at First & Main promptly at 4pm. After a short dinner break, come back down to Spokane Street to dance the night away (well, 7 to 11pm, anyway) to Walla Walla’s own Gary Winston and The Real Deal, playing R&B, blues, reggae, and rock.
